Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT, is a mindfulness based therapy with the goal of creating a meaningful life guided by our values whilst accepting the pain that is part of all our lives. Often trying to get rid of or avoid uncomfortable feelings or thoughts creates emotional and mental distress.
Using ACT, you will learn psychological skills to deal with uncomfortable and painful thoughts and feelings, so they have less impact and influence over you and discover what is really important to you and what you want your life to look like. This approach has proven effective with a diverse range of conditions including; depression, anxiety, OCD, workplace stress, chronic pain, PTSD and substance abuse. |
